Gotland Fiber
Gotland fiber is renowned for its natural lightness and luster, signature bloom, softness and warmth. These qualities make Gotland yarn an exceptionally unique fiber to knit with and to wear. You can read more about this special yarn on our blog.
Our Gotland yarn is 100% pure, breed & batch-specific, shorn right here on our farm and processed locally, at Battenkill Fiber Mill in New York's Hudson Valley.
Each of our skeins is traced back to a single sheep or two, who lends her wool and special energy to each batch of our yarn. In this way, we can preserve the unique, signature grey-scale color and character of each individual fleece. Our 2024 yarn selection showcases the beautiful fiber of Mama Izzy, Lisbeth, Mattina, Madde, and twins, Sister Pia and Brother Per.
Each skein is 100g/4oz, approximately 240 yards.

Here on the farm, we use wool year-round, but we go lighter as spring nears and look to lace to carry us through the warmer months.
Our limited edition lace weight yarn is 100% pure wool and so very special. It is a 50% Gotland-50% Merino blend from our Gotland ewe Lisbeth—she's our daydreamer! The Merino is from a neighboring Hudson Valley fiber farm with a steady supply of prize-winning fleeces. Our laceweight yarn is processed locally, in New York State, at Battenkill Fiber Mill, and it's heavenly soft and lustrous with a delicate light platinum grey hue.
You can knit lace or double it up for a fingering weight sweater or shawl, hat or scarf. This yarn comes with so many options and it offers the best qualities of both Merino and Gotland fibers. And, if you are really feeling up for a challenge, try this gorgeous Super Shero Lace cape by Anna Dalvi. The pattern is coming out this spring!
Each skein is 100g/4oz, approximately 640 yards.

Options abound for the length of the sweater body and sleeves, and a sumptuous collar is added at the end with the option to make a turtleneck or a folded collar. Recommended for the adventurous novice knitter and beyond. Basic knitting skills are required.

Knit your own Little Women-inspired Gotland Geese shawl, designed especially for our yarn by vintage knitwear designer Sydney Crabaugh.
Our 2022 collaboration with Sydney Crabaugh, beloved "Headmistress" of Squid's School of Vintage Knitting, has been a delightful labor of love! Few knitwear designers can rival (or rock) Sydney's vintage style and attitude, not to mention her incredible breadth of knowledge on vintage knitwear and technique.
The pattern for this "sontag-style" shawl was inspired by the hand-stitched flying geese quilt proudly displayed at Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House (and made by her mother!). The warm, earthy feel of Gotland yarn is just the perfect medium for this shawl’s intricate textured stitch work and the beautiful geometric designs of Victorian-era American quilting.
The Dutchess County Gotland Geese Kit includes 4 skeins of 100% pure 2-ply DK Weight Gotland Yarn, spun at Battenkill Fibers (2 charcoal, 1 medium grey and 1 light grey) wrapped in craft paper and twine + a printed pattern + a keepsake picture postcard of our Gotland flock. Our 2024 yarn selection showcases the beautiful fiber of Mama Izzy, Lisbeth, Mattina, Madde, and twins, Sister Pia and Brother Per.

Food & Provisions
Straight from our honeybee hives, coarse-filtered and with loads of healthful goodness, our raw Hudson Valley farm honey is the ultimate natural treat.
For maximum health benefits, our 100% pure raw honey is hand-harvested and never heated. Every summer and fall, we harvest excess honey from the hives on our farm, ensuring we never dip into what the bees, themselves, need to survive. The ultimate holiday treat, each jar is traceable to our apiary and comes hand-labeled, numbered, and packaged in gift boxes with festive ribbons, seasonal foliage and a picture postcard, featuring the magical honeybee.
As a small family farm, we rely on honey sales to fund our farm’s apiary program. What we earn in sales, we put back into the bees—nurturing their natural instincts and providing a safe foraging space, free of chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.
Our 2023 harvest showcases medium-colored summer honey, a delicate blend of mid-summer foraging flavors and always our most popular gift offering.
Elegant glass jars are offered in four convenient sizes.
