The Irish Bakery with Cherie Denham

$65.00
Only 9 left in stock

Taught by Cherie Denham, hosted by Six Dutchess Farm.

Step into the warm and welcoming kitchen of Irish baker Cherie Denham for an afternoon of seasonal baking. With comforting winter ingredients at our fingertips (and the spirit of Irish Grannies and Great-Aunts everywhere!), you’ll learn how to bake fresh Guinness bread from scratch, churn your own butter from heavy cream, and make an indulgent Irish Cream Cheesecake to impress.

In this 2-hour live, interactive Zoom class, we’ll be baking together from the pages of Cherie’s wildly successful debut cookbook, The Irish Bakery.

The beauty of Irish baking is in the simplicity and the quality of ingredients, fresh from the land and sea…and, of course, in the people and the stories behind every recipe. In Cherie’s words, many of the recipes in The Irish Bakery are inspired by her childhood memories and by the “fierce, formidable women in [her] life who set examples of moral fortitude, hard work and thrift.” Food was love, comfort and caring, and always a warm embrace as soon as she walked in the door of her family farmhouse in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland

We honor those traditions with this class and a menu of enjoyable, approachable and achievable staples of the Irish kitchen, curated by Cherie! With a nod to the season and to the land, we’ll focus on baking with Irish beer and spirits and classic cream and dairy products that add warmth to chilly winter days.

On the Baking Menu: Freshly-baked Guinness Bread, homemade butter from scratch, and a no-bake Irish Cream Cheesecake made with Bailey’s Irish Cream and Irish Whiskey. Join us!

Hello Friends! It’s a special kind of glory headed to @beaconfarmersmarket today (and to @pawlingfarmersmarket next Saturday)! The bells are ringing and we’ve been out harvesting them (Campanula aka Scottish or Canterbury bells) all after
